Insomnia.

My dad's favorite author is Stephen King, so I decided to give his book "Insomnia" a try, since I AM looking for new things to read. I only got up to page 50-something. I put back the book because it's all grown up stuff. Try reading about a 70 year old man that loses his wife, and can't sleep. On top of that, he has a "deranged" friend, accusing a heavyset man of killing babies, and putting them in a barrel in his trunk. Also, something about a woman named Susan Day. I like mysteries like my dad, but I decided that the book was much too serious and disturbing. I didn't look forward to reading it, and that was weird. My dad's taste is too grown up for me right now. I like the way that Stephen King writes, a lot of metaphors and literary devices, it's enjoyable to read. But I just find the story itself odd. Maybe I'll try to find a more interesting book written by him. I might even read his Dark Tower series. My dad seems to like those a lot. Anybody got any suggestions for books or authors? I'm into mysteries and fantasies. Thanks =)

Beastly

I'm reading a book called "Beastly" by Alex Flinn. This book is about a guy that was like THE guy at his school, and all the girls liked him for his looks. Then a girl comes to the school that totally opposed everything. He promised to take her to the dance because he thought it would be funny. It turns out she ws a witch and she was testing him. Earlier before the dance, he gave the white rose corsage to a nerdy girl, because he didn't know what to do with it. Two petals fell off, and he put it in his pocket. So, he went home, and the witch was there. She turned him into a beast. He walked upright with fangs, and hair springing from every pore. She said that the two petals represented 2 years. He had 2 years to find a girl that would love him for himself, and the goodness he had. Not his looks. He had to love her too and prove it with a kiss. It was the only way he could turn back. I'm at the part where it's two days after the transformation and he's explaining his story to a bunch of creatures like him in a chat room. He says he has been avoiding his dad lately. In the chat room is Mr. Anderson, SilentMaid, Froggie, Grizzlyguy, and him, BeastNYC.

The Talisman

I finished my goal, but my teacher tells me to read. So I'm continuing the series "Daughters of the Moon." I'm on the 10th book called "The Talisman." This one is about the Daughters' mentor named Maggie. She was actually called Penelope in 431 B.C. I'm at the part where she finds out Hector wants to marry her, but it's right after she dedicates her life to the goddess Selene. In the previous books, you find out that Hector was forced to submit his life to the Atrox by accident, while trying to prove his love to Penelope/Maggie.

Uhm.

I'm currently not reading anything because I already reached 119% of my goal.
